Comments about wine Cask Storage wedges Valdavia Davia:
Bodegas Valdavia is a family winery with a great history behind it.
Its history is closely linked to the Monastery of San Clodio which was part more than 800 years ago.
It has two hectares of vineyards and their wines are limited production.
His idea is to make small productions of high quality wines.
In wine we tried today, and we know through a presentation of the winery tasting a group have been prepared annually between 1000 and 1500 bottles. All they numbered.
It is a ribeiro left to ferment on its lees in French oak barrels.
It is made with grapes treixadura (80%) and albariño (20%).
The view is of a straw-colored, bright yellow.
The nose is very aromatic and hints of toasted wood and the barrels are slightly appreciated.
Is the most complex of this wine guessing that these fresh aromas and aromatic touch of wood.
It was undoubtedly the wine we liked this tasting.
Its price is around 19-20 euros per bottle and that makes its value has dropped to just correct, but must take into account the low production.
Davia chocks three months in oak barrels this ribeiro
In short this is a curious wine, ribeiro with a light oak aging and a complex wine, with many aromatic resources.
Worth a try, no doubt.
